Questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser using the Canvas API — the file never leaves your machine, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads. There is no account, no queue, and no server-side copy to delete later.
How much quality can I lose before it shows?
For photographs, 80% is usually indistinguishable. For screenshots the answer is different — compression artefacts cluster around high-contrast edges, which is exactly what text is, so stay at 90% or above, or use PNG or WebP.
Why did my PNG get bigger?
PNG is lossless, so re-encoding it here will not beat a file that has already been optimised. Convert to WebP instead — it keeps transparency and is dramatically smaller.
