Screenshot background generator
A raw screenshot says you took a screenshot. This adds the background, the framing and the shadow that make it look deliberate. It is the same renderer the LayerShot desktop app uses — this page is the actual product, not a mock-up of it.

Questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser using the Canvas API — the file never leaves your machine, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads. There is no account, no queue, and no server-side copy to delete later.
Why does my exported image look sharper than the preview?
The preview is scaled to fit your window; the export renders at full resolution and then multiplies by your chosen scale. Both go through exactly the same code path, so the composition is identical — only the pixel count changes.
Can I keep the background transparent?
Yes — pick the transparent swatch and export as PNG. The padding, rounded corners and shadow are preserved with an alpha channel, which is what you want when dropping the result onto a slide or a coloured section. JPG has no alpha, so it flattens to white.
What is the difference between this and the app?
The rendering is identical. The app adds capture itself — global hotkeys, region and window selection — plus annotation tools, presets, and export straight to your clipboard or disk without a download step.
