Questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser using the Canvas API — the file never leaves your machine, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads. There is no account, no queue, and no server-side copy to delete later.

Which format should I use for screenshots?

PNG for anything with text, UI or sharp edges — it is lossless, so lettering stays crisp. WebP if file size matters and your audience is on modern browsers; it is roughly 30% smaller than JPG at the same quality. JPG only for photographs, where its compression is designed to work well.

Why did my transparent PNG turn white?

JPG has no alpha channel, so transparency has to be flattened onto something. This tool flattens to white. Convert to PNG or WebP instead if you need the transparency preserved.
